Senior Information Systems Security Engineer
Overview
You will own technical security assessments and engineer IA solutions across multi-enclave environments at TS/SCI polygraph level. You will architect, integrate, and deploy security functionality into networking and computing components, ensuring compliance with RMF and NIST standards. Working with architects and developers, you will embed security throughout the engineering lifecycle. What You'll Do8
- 1Design and deploy IA components across multi-enclave networks and computing environments.
- 2Execute security authorization activities under DoD RMF and NIST RMF guidelines.
- 3Conduct technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
- 4Integrate security functionality into system components, including COTS and GOTS cryptography.
- 5Collaborate with architects and developers to enforce Agency security policies throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- 6Drive system security engineering across configuration control and change management.
- 7Perform incident handling and live threat mitigation for operational systems.
- 8Ensure compliance with NISCAP and cross-domain security requirements.
Requirements9
- 1Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- 215+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or 19+ years hands-on experience without a degree.
- 3Applied expertise in designing and deploying IA components in multi-enclave environments.
- 4Practical experience with RMF and NIST authorization activities.
- 5Hands-on vulnerability assessment and mitigation strategy development.
- 6In-depth understanding of core IA principles: confidentiality, integrity, availability, non-repudiation, access control, identification, authentication, authorization.
- 7Familiarity with cross-domain solutions, COTS, GOTS cryptography, and intrusion detection systems.
- 8Desired: Advanced cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, ISSEP, CASP+, or CISM.
- 9Desired: Familiarity with NSA/CSS business processes for security engineering.
