Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) at CACI
Overview
We seek a motivated ISSE to support security accreditation and continuous monitoring of classified mission-critical systems. This role integrates security across the SDLC and ensures compliance with evolving cybersecurity requirements. Candidates will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure solutions and influence future system architectures.
What You'll Do17
- 1Collaborate with software systems network and DevOps engineers to embed cybersecurity requirements throughout the System Development Life Cycle
- 2Lead Assessment and Authorization activities to achieve and maintain Authorization to Operate under the Risk Management Framework
- 3Partner directly with ISSOs ISSMs and Authorizing Officials to navigate accreditation efforts and resolve compliance findings
- 4Develop and maintain RMF documentation including System Security Plans Security Assessment Reports and Security Control Traceability Matrices
- 5Perform security control assessments aligned with ICD 503 NIST 800-53 CNSSI and DoD requirements
- 6Implement system hardening using DISA STIGs and industry best practices
- 7Execute DISA SCAP scans vulnerability assessments and compliance audits to identify remediation needs
- 8Coordinate remediation with development and infrastructure teams to address security gaps
- 9Monitor system security posture and support Continuous Monitoring activities including vulnerability management and patch compliance
- 10Evaluate system architectures and recommend mitigations for potential security risks
- 11Support incident response forensic investigations and root cause analysis
- 12Review system changes for security impacts and RMF compliance
- 13Assist in developing cybersecurity strategies security engineering plans and risk management approaches
- 14Automate compliance validation system auditing and security reporting through scripting and tooling
- 15Support secure configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives
- 16Participate in Agile ceremonies providing cybersecurity guidance throughout the development process
- 17Stay current on cybersecurity threats DoD policies and industry best practices
Requirements12
- 15+ years experience as an ISSE Information Assurance Engineer Cybersecurity Engineer or Linux Systems Administrator
- 2Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- 3DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE CySA+ SSCP or higher)
- 4Strong understanding of Risk Management Framework and NIST 800-53 controls
- 5Hands-on experience supporting systems through the ATO lifecycle including accreditation and continuous monitoring
- 6Linux administration and security hardening in classified or enterprise environments
- 7Experience implementing DISA STIG compliance
- 8Proficiency with DISA SCAP scan execution and interpretation
- 9Scripting language experience with BASH Python or similar tools
- 10System security principles vulnerability management and secure configuration knowledge
- 11Verbal and written communication skills for technical and stakeholder interactions
- 12Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering Software Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Science Cybersecurity or related field
