Overview
The ideal candidate will own HR functions for a commercial electrical contractor with over 150 employees. This full-time onsite role in Los Angeles requires independent work handling sensitive employee matters reducing compliance risk and strengthening HR systems while supporting growth.
What You'll Do10
- 1Manage day-to-day HR operations and employee lifecycle processes
- 2Lead recruiting screening onboarding and offboarding
- 3Handle employee relations complaints investigations discipline and performance issues
- 4Maintain compliance with California employment and wage-and-hour laws
- 5Coordinate payroll timekeeping benefits and employee status changes
- 6Manage leaves of absence accommodations and return-to-work processes
- 7Coordinate workers compensation claims and workplace injury documentation
- 8Draft and maintain HR policies handbooks forms and procedures
- 9Support managers and leadership with HR decisions and employee matters
- 10Maintain accurate employee records compliance trackers and HR reporting
Requirements7
- 15+ years of progressive HR experience
- 2Strong knowledge of California employment law and wage-and-hour compliance
- 3Experience handling employee relations and workplace investigations
- 4Experience supporting hourly field-based or skilled-trade employees
- 5Construction or skilled-trades HR experience preferred
- 6Experience supporting 100+ employees preferred
- 7SHRM PHR SPHR PHRca or similar certification is a plus
