Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Cisco
Overview
Lead the development of next generation switches for cloud connected edge networks. This role owns technical documentation and leads design reviews. You will architect system block diagrams with major networking ASIC suppliers. Design networking switches and bring-up processes. Collaborate with product management and software teams to define future products. Drive process improvements and resolve major customer issues during sustaining stages. What You'll Do9
- 1Specify technical product documentation and lead reviews
- 2Architect system block diagrams with major networking ASIC suppliers
- 3Design networking switches and review schematics layout review
- 4Bring-up, troubleshooting, design validation, and build yield bring-up with tier one ODM/JDM partners
- 5Work with component suppliers on high-performance cost-effective technology
- 6Collaborate with product management and software platforms to develop next generation product definition
- 7Work closely with cross functional team in each NPI phase and bring product to market
- 8Triage, debug, and root cause major customer issues during sustaining stage
- 9Participate in process improvement and innovation initiatives
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years related experience or Master’s plus 4 years related experience or PhD plus 1 year related experience
- 2Supervisory or team lead experience required
- 3Prior experience with multi-gigabit Ethernet and Power-over Ethernet technology
- 4Familiarity with schematics layout hardware bring-up troubleshooting system level testing
- 5Previous experience with software team on system bring-up device configuration at register level
- 6Experience with high volume cost-sensitive product development
- 7Experience bringing products to production
- 8Ability to work with teams across different time zones
- 9Strong communication and strategic planning skills with self-motivation
- 10Minimum 5+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
