Senior Global Supply Manager, Machining Aerospace
Overview
You will own the global sourcing and supplier management for all machined components and major vehicle structures on the Terran R rocket program. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, giving you direct influence over design-for-manufacturability and program execution. - 2Develop and execute supply chain strategies, including supplier selection, long-term agreements, and capacity planning to support Terran-R build schedules.
- 3Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Planning to influence design for manufacturability and align procurement with program milestones.
- 4Drive supplier performance through risk management, contract negotiations, and milestone-based tracking.
- 5Mentor team members, building expertise in precision machining processes and supplier development.
- 6Act as a thought leader for machining commodities, continuously improving sourcing processes and supplier health.
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 27+ years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, or procurement.
- 3Proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing milestone-based agreements.
- 4Hands-on experience with ERP systems: LN, SAP, or Oracle.
- 5Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes: CNC machining, 5-axis milling, turning, precision grinding, EDM, and tight-tolerance fabrication.
- 6Direct experience managing machining commodities in aerospace: CNC machined components, castings, forgings, sheet metal fabrication, and extrusions.
- 7Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP standards, supplier qualifications, and audit processes.
- 8Proven success driving supplier performance improvements through KPIs, recovery plans, and long-term agreements.
- 9New Product Development (NPD) or Introduction (NPI) supply chain experience, preferably in aerospace or frontier technology.
- 10Proficiency in supplier risk assessment, machining cost modeling, and capacity planning.
- 11Understanding of material specifications, surface treatments, and inspection requirements for aerospace-grade machined parts.
