Senior Full-Stack Engineer, TS/SCI & Azure Gov
Overview
You'll own the modernization of a federal enterprise application, migrating it from an embedded database to production-grade Azure SQL while preserving security controls and audit history. You'll build secure full-stack features with Node.js, Express, TypeScript, and REST APIs in an integrated delivery team. The environment is hands-on, with AI-assisted development tools central to your workflow. You'll work in Azure Government and classified environments, collaborating with architects, security, and QA professionals. This role demands a TS/SCI clearance and rewards deep technical execution over management.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain full-stack applications using Node.js, Express, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL Server or Azure SQL.
- 2Lead the migration from embedded database to Azure SQL, including asynchronous data access, SQL-dialect conversion, and versioned migrations.
- 3Design secure, versioned REST APIs with validation, error handling, structured logging, and authorization.
- 4Implement CAC/PIV authentication, DoD PKI integration, and server-side access controls.
- 5Use AI-assisted development tools to analyze repositories, generate code, and refactor across the stack.
- 6Develop accessible interfaces conforming to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA.
- 7Write automated tests for unit, integration, API, security, and accessibility using tools like Vitest, Jest, Supertest, and Playwright.
- 8Remediate security findings from OWASP and DISA STIG.
- 9Support containerized deployment via GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps pipelines with hardened images.
- 10Produce technical documentation and as-built materials for government handoff.
Requirements11
- 17+ years of hands-on software development for production enterprise applications.
- 2Strong professional experience with Node.js, Express, modern JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- 3Experience building full-stack web apps, REST APIs, background services, and database-backed systems.
- 4Strong SQL skills in SQL Server or Azure SQL, including T-SQL, transactions, schema migrations, indexing, and referential integrity.
- 5Experience modernizing a mature application or completing a large cross-cutting refactor without regression.
- 6Experience implementing authentication, authorization, role-based access control, and secure session/token management.
- 7Experience with automated testing, Git, pull requests, CI/CD pipelines, and container-based deployment.
- 8Working knowledge of secure coding and remediating application-security findings.
- 9Experience with GitHub Enterprise and/or Azure DevOps for source control and automated delivery.
- 10Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools in professional delivery workflows.
- 11Active TS/SCI clearance and DoD 8140/8570 baseline certification.
