- 5Mobilize Grassroots and Grasstops Advocacy Efforts through community mobilization
- 6Analyze and Anticipate Policy Developments by monitoring legislative trends
- 7Develop Policy and Advocacy Resources including briefings and testimony
- 8Represent Organizational Interests Before Government Bodies
- 9Strengthen Field Government Relations Capacity through training
- 10Foster Strategic Alignment Across the Enterprise for consistent execution
- 11Provide Executive Counsel on Legislative Strategy to support decision making
Requirements10
- 1Extensive knowledge of non-profit sector policies especially tax laws
- 2Experience working with Senate Finance Committee and House Ways and Means Committee
- 3Ability to brief Red Cross leadership on congressional issues and opportunities
- 4Develop legislative/regulatory strategic plans with SVP
- 5Strong interpersonal skills for diverse audience engagement
- 6Understanding of emergency management and disaster response
- 7Minimum 10 years related experience or equivalent education and experience
- 8Management experience of 7 years
- 9Bachelor's degree required with J.D. preferred
- 10Travel throughout region with possible out-of-region assignments
