Senior Data Engineer, Healthcare AI & Snowflake
Overview
You'll own the trust layer for Ambience's AI platform, building and running the pipelines that ingest, validate, and transform clinical and operational data at scale. The metrics you deliver power our AI story and drive decisions across clinical, engineering, and business teams. You'll partner with product managers, engineers, and clinicians to turn raw data into governed, self-service analytics. This role stands out because you'll have end-to-end ownership of data quality and credibility, directly impacting healthcare outcomes. What You'll Do8
- 1Build and run pipelines that ingest clinical and operational data at scale, ensuring metrics are accurate, reproducible, and defensible.
- 2Own the end-to-end data pipeline: if data breaks, you fix it.
- 3Partner with engineering, clinical, and product teams to design dashboards in Looker that guide decisions and improve outcomes.
- 4Apply best practices for warehousing, orchestration (Dagster), governance, and RBAC to keep data systems secure and performant.
- 5Automate file-based ingestion workflows for plug-and-play onboarding of external sources, with validation and error handling.
- 6Implement data validation frameworks in Python or TypeScript, and design transformation layers in SQL and dbt.
- 7Build governed metrics and analytical schemas in SQL that stand up to customer and third-party verification.
- 8Enable tiered self-service so every employee can answer their own questions without waiting on the data team.
Requirements6
- 15+ years in a production Data Engineering role with hands-on Snowflake experience.
- 2Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python.
- 3Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, or warehouses in modern cloud environments.
- 4Solid grasp of data validation, schema design, and scalable architecture.
- 5Clear communicator who bridges technical and non-technical teams to gather requirements and present to stakeholders.
