Senior Data Engineer, AWS & Database Development
Overview
You will design and build the data layer for a high-volume filing platform, owning schemas, queries, and pipelines on AWS data services. You will join a collaborative team of developers and data architects, working onsite in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid schedule. This contract role focuses on performance tuning, data integrity, and security, with AI-assisted tooling accelerating your work. You will make an immediate impact by optimizing Aurora, RDS, and DynamoDB systems.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, and queries for AWS data services.
- 2Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to move high-volume data.
- 3Optimize query and database performance for high-volume workloads using Aurora and RDS.
- 4Support data modeling on AWS services including DynamoDB and S3.
- 5Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within the data layer.
- 6Collaborate with developers and data architects on data access patterns.
- 7Leverage AI-assisted tooling for query and pipeline development.
Requirements10
- 13+ years of database development experience.
- 2Strong SQL and data-modeling skills.
- 3Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases on AWS.
- 4Understanding of performance tuning and data security.
- 5Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- 6Willing to work a hybrid schedule (2 days) in Reston, VA and client locations in Washington D.C.
- 7Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance.
- 8Preferred: AWS data services experience (Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift).
- 9Preferred: Federal IT or high-volume transaction experience.
- 10Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted data tooling.
