Bold Real Estate and Corporate counsel role at a leading studio and investment platform. Owns sophisticated negotiating, drafting, and advisory work across leasing, acquisitions, financings, joint ventures, and corporate governance. You will partner with senior management, outside counsel, and cross-functional teams on high-impact deals and regulatory matters. This role operates in a fast-paced environment and offers the opportunity to shape a global real estate portfolio.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build, review, and finalize a broad range of documents including leases, licenses, purchase agreements, loan documents, and joint venture agreements with an eye toward risk and value creation
  • 2Advise on real estate, corporate, employment, compliance, and regulatory matters in collaboration with outside counsel as needed
  • 3Review governance matters for funds, joint ventures, lenders, and asset-level entities ensuring compliance and reporting
  • 4Manage litigation, investigations, and pre-litigation matters, coordinating with outside counsel and internal stakeholders
  • 5Oversee insurance claims and tenders and related risk management activities
  • 6Oversee corporate governance and entity management for Hackman Capital’s managed entities
  • 7Provide day-to-day legal guidance to senior management and internal teams
  • 8Assist with contract lifecycle management, document management, and workflow automation including AI-assisted drafting
  • 9Promote information governance, cybersecurity, confidentiality, records retention, and data privacy practices across the Legal Department
  • 10Support strategic projects by providing practical legal advice and risk assessments to drive investment outcomes

Requirements10

  • 1J.D. degree from a top-tier law school
  • 2Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California
  • 33 or more years of experience working on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions at a top-tier firm or in-house with a real estate investment platform
  • 4Meaningful experience in leasing and licensing, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures, development, and construction
  • 5Strong knowledge of real estate and corporate law and ability to provide practical business-oriented legal advice
  • 6Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with senior management
  • 7Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • 8Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • 9Experience with entertainment industry studios, labor and employment, compliance, litigation, insurance, governance, and entity management is a plus
