What You'll Do9
- 1Interpret contract specifications and special provisions to guide daily inspections and ensure compliance with Caltrans and local standards.
- 2Perform field measurements and quality checks on construction materials and products using Bluebeam and Microsoft Office tools.
- 3Identify changes, errors, or field adjustments to contract documents and recommend action to the Resident Engineer within the first 90 days.
- 4Monitor contractor work progress and schedule, maintaining daily records that track performance and support payment requests.
- 5Enforce compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations across all phases of construction, from grading to final acceptance.
- 6Support resolution of design and coordination issues by facilitating meetings and preparing accurate minutes for project stakeholders.
- 7Assist in project close-out, including final inspections, punch lists, and documentation turnover.
- 8Collaborate with diverse teams to deliver technical excellence on complex engineering and infrastructure projects.
- 9Drive client satisfaction by proactively proposing solutions that align with project goals and deadlines.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of experience in landscape construction inspection for highway or major public works projects.
- 2Proven grasp of complex engineering and construction infrastructure concepts, including grading, drainage, and utility installation.
- 3Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn project-specific software such as Primavera P6.
