Overview

You will own maintenance, diagnostics, and repair for large tonnage chillers and complex HVAC systems at a premier mechanical services company in La Mirada, CA. You will work on centrifugal, screw, and absorption chillers, using Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, or McQuay equipment. You will collaborate with project and engineering teams on retrofits and overhauls, and mentor other technicians. This role offers $35-$53/hour based on experience and certifications.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Troubleshoot and repair centrifugal, screw, and absorption chillers as well as complex HVAC systems to ensure peak performance.
  • 2Run precision diagnostics and system optimization with manufacturer-specific software and tools.
  • 3Execute refrigerant management, oil analysis, and vibration testing per EPA, ASHRAE, and OSHA standards.
  • 4Support installations, startups, and commissioning of new chiller systems.
  • 5Document service activities, performance metrics, and client communications accurately.
  • 6Drive collaboration with engineering teams on chiller retrofits, overhauls, and performance upgrades.
  • 7Mentor and train junior technicians on advanced chiller repair and maintenance techniques.
  • 8Maintain compliance with all safety and environmental regulations during fieldwork.

Requirements6

  • 15-7 years of hands-on experience servicing large tonnage chillers and HVAC systems.
  • 2EPA Universal Certification required.
  • 3Proficiency with Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, or McQuay chillers.
  • 4Working knowledge of BAS/BMS systems and digital controls.
  • 5Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • 6Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and fieldwork as required.
