Senior Business Intelligence Engineer
Overview
Lead recurring reporting and data processes for administrative functions. Own processes with hard monthly and annual deadlines. Ensure data accuracy and produce firm leadership reporting. Strong SQL analysis is the single most important qualification.
What You'll Do11
- 1Own recurring operational reporting and data processes across firm financial and HR data domains from daily validation through month-end and year-end close
- 2Read, analyze, and understand complex SQL views stored procedures to explain how reported numbers are produced and diagnose discrepancies
- 3Monitor daily data validation reporting and investigate conflicts such as HR records from upstream system changes applying corrections before month-end close
- 4Execute month-end and year-end close activities including reconciliations and year-end reporting deliverables
- 5Prepare and distribute highly confidential deliverables with complete accuracy and discretion
- 6Develop and maintain reports in Power BI and Cognos while supporting legacy Crystal reports
- 7Work with product management team to translate HRIS changes into data and report updates
- 8Trace data issues back to source systems and coordinate corrections with data engineering and system owners
- 9Maintain clear documentation and step-by-step procedures for all recurring processes
- 10Contribute subject-matter knowledge to report modernization efforts and validate converted outputs
- 11Respond to ad hoc analysis requests with fast accurate turnaround
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics Information Systems Computer Science Accounting Finance or related field
- 2Minimum 5 years experience as data analyst reporting analyst or similar role owning recurring operational data processes
- 3Expert-level SQL analysis ability to read and unravel complex multi-table logic nested views and stored procedures
- 4Proven experience running recurring financial or operational close cycles against hard deadlines
- 5Exceptional attention to detail with track record in data validation reconciliation and correction
- 6Proven ability to handle highly sensitive financial and personnel data with discretion
- 7Report development experience with Power BI Tableau or Cognos
- 8Excellent communication skills comfortable working with product managers business analysts and senior administrative stakeholders
- 9Ability to own long-running processes independently with minimal supervision
- 10Strong diagnostic ability to trace incorrect numbers through interconnected systems
- 11Habit of documenting processes decisions and fixes in writing
Salary Insight
$98 - $145k per year
