Senior Business Analyst, Healthcare Data Modernization
Overview
You will own business process and requirements analysis for the Data Modernization Initiative at NCDHHS. You will partner with public health stakeholders and IT teams to document current-state workflows and define future-state needs. This role runs through procurement and system implementation, combining analyst and technical writer duties. You will work remote now, then transition onsite in Raleigh, NC after one year.
What You'll Do8
- 1Document current-state business processes for public health data systems, using Visio or similar tools.
- 2Gather and refine requirements from stakeholders, including CDC and NC public health programs.
- 3Draft procurement artifacts, including RFP documents, SOWs, and technical specifications.
- 4Facilitate workshops with subject matter experts to validate process flows and data mappings.
- 5Translate business needs into functional requirements for Data Modernization efforts.
- 6Drive traceability from requirements through design, testing, and deployment.
- 7Build and maintain a requirements repository in JIRA or Confluence.
- 8Deliver meeting summaries, status reports, and technical documentation for executive review.
Requirements7
- 11+ years as a Business Analyst on a Data Modernization or Data Warehouse project.
- 2State government experience, preferably with NCDHHS or another health agency.
- 3Healthcare domain knowledge, including HL7 or HIPAA standards.
- 4Technical writing experience, producing RFP sections or SOW documents.
- 5Experience with SQL for data analysis and validation.
- 6Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall SDLC and BA artifacts.
- 7Ability to work onsite in Raleigh, NC after remote period.
Salary Insight
$60 - $65k per year
