Senior Backend Software Engineer, .NET & Cloud
Overview
You will own backend services for a citywide E-Citations application used by law enforcement, processing high-volume citations with C# and .NET in a hybrid cloud environment. You will work with Product, iOS, QA, and Infrastructure teams to ship secure, scalable solutions. This role combines deep technical work in Azure, Kubernetes, and Terraform with production support. You will drive modernization of legacy integrations and build event-driven workflows that keep citations moving in real time.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and ship secure REST and SOAP APIs for iOS and enterprise integrations using C# and ASP.NET Core.
- 2Design event-driven workflows with Durable Functions, Step Functions, or Temporal for citation processing.
- 3Develop resilient messaging and batch integrations using Kafka, Azure Event Hub, or SNS/SQS with retry and idempotency patterns.
- 4Optimize relational and NoSQL data models in SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including ETL/ELT pipelines.
- 5Implement OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and role-based access control with Azure IAM and secrets management.
- 6Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps, deploying to Kubernetes and AKS.
- 7Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and fix defects across the stack.
- 8Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software in Agile sprints.
- 9Support occasional evening or weekend releases for mission-critical operations.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of backend engineering with C# and .NET in production environments.
- 2Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP building cloud-native APIs.
- 3Strong experience with serverless and containers: Azure Functions, Lambda, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- 4Workflow and event-driven expertise with Durable Functions, Step Functions, Temporal, or Kafka.
- 5Solid data engineering skills in SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including NoSQL platforms.
- 6Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, and secure coding practices.
- 7Proficiency in DevOps tools: Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation, or GitLab CI/CD.
- 8Background in high-volume transaction processing and legacy integration modernization.
