What You'll Do11
- 1Legal Bill Review & Management Validate and process invoices from outside counsel ensuring compliance with engagement letters and billing guidelines
- 2Identify billing errors duplicate charges and non-compliant line items while negotiating adjustments with law firms
- 3Maintain accurate tracking of legal spend by matter entity and business unit preparing monthly and quarterly reports for VP of Finance
- 4Partner with Legal department to forecast legal costs for active and anticipated matters
- 5Insurance Recovery Serve as primary finance liaison with carriers brokers and third-party administrators on claims for reimbursable legal expenses
- 6Prepare submit and track insurance claims including compiling supporting documentation and correspondence
- 7Monitor claim status follow up on outstanding reimbursements reconcile recoveries against submitted amounts and escalate disputes
- 8Maintain recovery pipeline report quantifying submitted approved and collected amounts ensuring proper recording in general ledger
- 9Contract Review Support Assist with internal review of commercial contracts focusing on financial terms such as payment obligations indemnification and insurance requirements
- 10Flag financial risks and non-standard terms to Finance and Legal leadership
- 11Help maintain centralized contract repository tracking key financial obligations renewal dates and milestones
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or related field with 3-4 years of experience in finance accounting legal billing insurance claims or internal audit
- 2Strong understanding of accruals receivables and general ledger fundamentals
- 3Advanced Excel skills building trackers reconciliations and reporting from scratch
- 4Exceptional attention to detail persistence in chasing recoveries over long timelines
- 5Bold technology names: Python AWS React Kubernetes
- 6Bold certifications: CPC Card BCBA AWS Certified
- 7Bold experience ranges: 5+ years 3-5 seasons
