Senior Accounting Manager, Hotel Properties & GAAP
Overview
You will own property accounting for a cluster of newly opened hotels, delivering GAAP-compliant financial statements monthly. You report directly to the VP of Finance, working with 10+ property accountants. You will train these teams, audit their balance sheets, and handle transitions into the portfolio. This role stands out because you will shape procedures across a growing hotel network.
What You'll Do8
- 1Review monthly balance sheet packs from decentralized properties to ensure timely, accurate records, and summarize issues for the VP of Finance.
- 2Develop and implement training programs that help property accountants master GAAP and company policies.
- 3Act as task force support, stepping in on-site to cover accounting gaps from turnover or PTO.
- 4Handle daily requests from property Controllers and staff, providing financial analysis for individual hotels.
- 5Drive hotel transitions, onboarding property teams in accounting disciplines.
- 6Support internal and external audits, coordinating complete and accurate responses.
- 7Partner with Regional Directors of Accounting and the VP of Financial Services to align accounting and operations.
- 8Oversee records management, including destruction schedules, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 23+ years of property accounting management experience, ideally in hospitality.
- 3GAAP proficiency with a track record of preparing accurate financial statements.
- 45+ years using Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
- 5Experience administering web-based training platforms is preferred.
- 6Occasional travel to Philadelphia and other corporate offices, with standard office work and extended hours when needed.
