Senior Accountant, Real Estate & Studio Operations
Overview
Senior Accountant owned by a fast-paced real estate investment firm with a broad portfolio including film and television studios at scale. You will manage corporate accounting, AR/AP, month-end close, and reporting for assigned entities from our Los Angeles office. This role collaborates across departments, supports treasury activities, and ensures accuracy in financial statements and tax filings. You will join a team with experienced leaders, a focus on process improvement, and ongoing opportunities to contribute to strategic budgeting and analysis.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and review journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned entities to ensure accurate financial reporting
- 2Own corporate accounts receivable and review revenue reconciliation to support timely collections and accurate reporting
- 3Review month-end accruals and manual journal entries and interface with operating departments for timely financial information
- 4Prepare quarterly payroll taxes and quarterly/annual guarantor reporting and annual tax forms such as 571-L and sales tax filings
- 5Prepare quarterly distributions for assigned entities and assist with annual budgeting, reforecasts, and cash flow analysis
- 6Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and cash flow analysis to support strategic decision making
- 7Review intercompany billing calculations, post AR batches, and monitor AR aging for collections
- 8Identify and implement process improvements, document policies and procedures, and serve as a software super user for MRI and SQL report creation
- 9Support treasury activities including wires and bank transfers as needed
- 10Assist with ad-hoc projects and analyses as required
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 23-4 years of accounting experience
- 3At least 1 year of senior management experience
- 4CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
- 5Knowledge of MRI Accounting software required
- 6High level of Excel knowledge with pivot tables and vlookup
- 7Thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently
- 8Deadline oriented with strong interpersonal skills
- 9Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and accuracy
