Senior Accountant Akumina Remote Payroll
Overview
The Senior Accountant at Akumin will own the accounting month end close process supporting accuracy timeliness and integrity of financial statements. You will build and post journal entries review general ledger accounts investigate discrepancies and lead ad hoc reporting initiatives. This role differs by focusing on remote work with flexibility across time zones.
What You'll Do5
- 1Prepare and post monthly standard and adjusting journal entries
- 2Record financial transactions to the general ledger including cash accruals prepaid amortization service contract accruals allocations and intercompany activities
- 3Review assigned general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness investigate questionable transactions and recommend correcting entries
- 4Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations identify and resolve account discrepancies examine financial statements for completeness and accuracy liaise with retail revenue services wholesale billing collections accounts payable and asset management
- 5Assist in annual financial audits and provide liaison support to external tax accountants and physician groups
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 22 years public accounting and 2 years private accounting preferred
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with pivot tables vlookup and advanced analysis
- 4Certified Public Accountant CPA license
- 5Physical stamina to sit stand and walk more than 50% of the time
