Security Officer Part Time Unarmed, Cultural Institution
Overview
You'll provide security and customer service at a cultural institution in New York, NY, owning unarmed patrols, access control, and emergency response. You'll work fixed anchor shifts on weekends (Sat/Sun 8:30 AM-4:30 PM) with the option to pick up extra shifts for more hours. This part-time role offers income stability and flexibility, with a six-month commitment and potential to build up to 40 hours weekly. You'll use Allied Universal's scheduling platform to claim additional shifts and access career growth and financial benefits.
What You'll Do6
- 1Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, entrances, and perimeters to identify and report unusual conditions at the cultural institution.
- 2Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and communicate site policies professionally.
- 3Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and critical events calmly, following established procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- 4Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and security activities, maintaining communication with Allied Universal leadership.
- 5Provide customer service to visitors, students, faculty, staff, and guests by carrying out site-specific procedures and access-control practices.
- 6Carry out emergency response activities as appropriate, ensuring safety and security at the site.
Requirements6
- 1Be at least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles).
- 2Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 3Hold a valid guard card or license (preferred).
- 4Have customer service experience (preferred).
- 5Pass a background investigation and drug screen as permitted by law.
- 6Meet state and local licensing requirements, which may include a valid driver's license for driving roles.
