What You'll Do7

  • 1Conduct novel research on AI algorithm vulnerabilities and defensive mechanisms
  • 2Identify emerging AI technologies and translate findings into actionable insights
  • 3Lead interdisciplinary teams to develop prototypes for government sponsors
  • 4Design and apply practical solutions to real-world adversarial challenges
  • 5Mentor junior staff and share expertise across the SEI AI Division
  • 6Develop research strategies that align with national security objectives
  • 7Collaborate with software developers and technical leads to bridge theory and practice

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 10 years experience OR MS with 8 years OR PhD with 5 years
  • 2Comprehensive knowledge of machine learning principles
  • 3Proven ability to conduct original research and publish findings
  • 4Experience leading research projects with limited prior work
  • 5Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • 6Ability to write funding proposals and pitch new research initiatives
  • 7Willingness to obtain and maintain a Department of War security clearance
  • 8Onsite availability in Arlington VA and Pittsburgh PA with 25% travel allowance
  • 9Five-year minimum experience in relevant technical domains
  • 10Commitment to mentoring and guiding team members
