You will own science instruction for grades 8-11, delivering inquiry-based lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science to classrooms of up to 25 students. You will join a close-knit faculty of 20 educators in a licensed private school that partners closely with parents. What You'll Do8
- 1Design and deliver inquiry-based science lessons for grades 8-11, integrating hands-on lab experiments and demonstrations.
- 2Submit weekly lesson plans aligned with the school's General Science curriculum and state standards.
- 3Build a safe, structured classroom environment, implementing lab safety protocols for all activities.
- 4Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, using data to adjust instruction.
- 5Differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning needs, including students with IEPs and advanced learners.
- 6Collaborate with grade-level teams and attend weekly meetings with the principal to align on student outcomes.
- 7Communicate student progress and classroom activities to parents through regular updates and conferences.
- 8Uphold professional standards in attendance, dress code, and all staff handbook policies.
Requirements6
- 12+ years teaching science at the middle or high school level, with demonstrated classroom management.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related science field.
- 3Valid state teaching certification or ability to obtain emergency certification within 90 days.
- 4Experience designing and leading lab-based instruction with safety protocols.
- 5Proven ability to differentiate instruction for a range of learning styles and abilities.
- 6Strong written and verbal communication skills for parent and team collaboration.
