School Speech Language Pathologist
Overview
You will evaluate and treat speech, language, and communication disorders for students aged 3 to 14 across preschool through 8th grade in a supportive school environment near Mesa, AZ. Manage a caseload of 50-60 students, collaborating with teachers, counselors, and families to foster academic and social growth. This contract role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to work in a nurturing school setting with mentorship available for CFY candidates. Your expertise will directly shape students' ability to communicate and succeed.
What You'll Do7
- 1Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students ages 3 to 14 using standardized assessments and clinical observation.
- 2Manage a caseload of approximately 50-60 students, tailoring therapy plans and interventions to meet individual IEP goals and objectives.
- 3Develop and implement compliant IEPs with measurable goals, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations.
- 4Conduct individual and group therapy sessions in classroom and dedicated therapy settings, targeting articulation, fluency, language, and social communication skills.
- 5Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to monitor progress and adjust strategies for each student's success.
- 6Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports, data collection, and therapy notes, to track outcomes and inform instructional decisions.
- 7Participate in professional development and school-based meetings to stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology.
Requirements6
- 1Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- 2Active state licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Arizona.
- 3Accepting CFY candidates with supervision provided.
- 4CCC-SLP certification preferred.
- 5Experience working with school-age children or pediatric populations recommended.
- 6Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
