School Occupational Therapist, Pediatrics (Los Angeles)
Overview
Deliver occupational therapy to K-12 students across Los Angeles schools, with a caseload of 40-55 students and IEP-driven treatment plans. Work alongside the district's SPED team, reporting to the lead OT and collaborating with teachers, SLPs, and behavioral specialists. This role offers relocation assistance, a flexible schedule, and a $65-$68/hour rate in the 2026-27 school year.
What You'll Do8
- 1Assess student needs via standardized OT evaluations and classroom observations to build IEP-aligned treatment plans.
- 2Deliver direct OT services targeting fine motor, sensory processing, and ADL skills in school and home settings.
- 3Collaborate with teachers, SLPs, and parents to embed therapeutic strategies into daily routines.
- 4Provide early intervention for preschool students showing developmental delays.
- 5Track progress with case management systems, adjusting goals based on data.
- 6Serve students in various settings: classrooms, therapy rooms, and community-based environments.
- 7Document all sessions and communications in the district's EHR system within required timelines.
- 8Adapt therapy materials and tools to support diverse learning needs, including sensory integration.
Requirements8
- 1Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (required).
- 2CA state OT license (required).
- 3NBCOT certification (required).
- 41+ years in a pediatric or school setting (preferred).
- 5Experience with sensory integration and ADL training.
- 6Proficiency with IEP processes and documentation.
- 7Strong communication for collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- 8Ability to travel between multiple school sites within Los Angeles (reliable transportation).
