Overview
School Behavior Technician will deliver 1:1 behavior support to students with autism in Los Angeles schools. This role implements ABA therapy and BIPs alongside educators and clinical teams. The technician works Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM, following the school calendar. Cortica's integrated model blends neurology and research-based therapies, setting this position apart.
What You'll Do8
- 1Implement ABA therapy and BCAT-aligned techniques in one-on-one and group school settings
- 2Execute individualized BIPs and skill acquisition programs tied to each student's IEP
- 3Collaborate with teachers and school staff to embed behavioral strategies into daily classroom routines
- 4Support students' communication, social, self-regulation, and self-care skills during school hours
- 5Collect session data and document progress notes and incident reports after each session
- 6Implement proactive behavior support and crisis protocols including de-escalation and mandated reporting
- 7Participate in classroom observations, team meetings, and school-based training sessions
- 8Travel between assigned school sites within the service area as needed
Requirements6
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 21+ year of experience in ABA or as a Behavior Technician
- 3First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain
- 4Reliable transportation and ability to travel between school locations
- 5Obtain BCAT certification within 30 days of hire (where required)
- 6Clear post-offer background check and motor vehicle report review
