Overview

You will own the Outside Garden and Lawn department at a Lowe's store, managing daily operations, team performance, and customer experience across a high-volume retail floor. You will lead a team of associates, coordinate stocking and recovery, and ensure safety compliance while driving sales and service goals. With about 300,000 associates company-wide and over 1,700 stores, you'll operate in a fast-moving environment where your leadership directly impacts store results. This role offers a clear path for growth into broader management, with opportunities to open or close the store and serve as manager-on-duty.

What You'll Do8

• 1Lead a team of 10-20 associates in the Outside Garden and Lawn department, setting daily priorities and delegating tasks to meet sales and service targets.
• 2Coach and train associates on customer engagement techniques, product knowledge, and safe lifting practices to improve service quality and reduce accidents.
• 3Conduct daily safety walks and immediately address hazards, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
• 4Monitor inventory levels and direct down stocking and area recovery to keep shelves full and displays visually appealing.
• 5Use store computer systems such as Project Tool and Genesis to track sales data, labor schedules, and task completion.
• 6Close sales with customers by identifying needs and recommending appropriate outdoor power equipment, grills, and seasonal merchandise.
• 7Collaborate with the store manager to develop merchandising strategies that boost seasonal sales and clear overstock.
• 8Serve as manager-on-duty during opening or closing shifts, resolving customer complaints and overseeing store-wide operations.
