Safety & Training Supervisor - Durham School Services
Overview
Summit School Services seeks a leader to own transportation safety training programs across 250+ centers. This role drives curriculum development recruits and trains drivers provides ongoing performance evaluations maintains compliance with drug testing policies and leads safety meetings. What You'll Do9
- 1Lead design and implementation of initial and recurrent training programs for transportation personnel
- 2Supervise driver trainers by establishing objectives standards and accountability frameworks
- 3Recruit train applicants and deliver classroom and behind the wheel instruction
- 4Administer and evaluate driver performance through regular safety meetings and testing
- 5Manage company drug and alcohol testing programs in partnership with corporate offices
- 6Investigate safety-related incidents and prepare reports according to policy
- 7Address customer service complaints regarding safety issues and implement corrective actions
- 8Maintain Safe Driver Award Program and uphold ethical best practices
- 9Coordinate with supervisors to substitute equivalent training experience when necessary
Requirements8
- 1High School diploma or equivalent with some college preferred
- 23 years trainer experience preferred plus supervisory background
- 3State certification or Durham Training Academy completion required
- 4Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and school bus endorsements
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation software
- 6Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
- 7Ability to handle unanticipated events while ensuring customer service excellence
- 8Commitment to child protection and adherence to EEO principles
