Overview
Own room inventory and guest readiness at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center, a 400+ room hotel steps from Acrisure Stadium and PPG Paints Arena. You link Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Revenue Management, and Sales to hit occupancy and guest satisfaction targets. This role blends Rooms Control with Front Office supervision, covering VIP arrivals and recovery when needed. Expect to make real-time decisions that shape the guest experience and drive revenue.
What You'll Do8
- 1Maximize room inventory by assigning rooms based on guest preferences and availability, using Opera PMS.
- 2Coordinate arrivals with Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure every room is ready by check-in time.
- 3Lead daily Rooms Control meetings to align occupancy forecasts with staffing and cleaning schedules.
- 4Resolve guest conflicts with patience and tact, using Marriott Bonvoy data to personalize recovery.
- 5Monitor VIP arrivals and prepare amenities and room blocks ahead of arrival using MARSHA.
- 6Supervise Front Desk agents during peak hours, guiding check-ins and check-outs with FOSSE.
- 7Generate and review occupancy and revenue reports in Excel to adjust pricing and inventory.
- 8Serve as the operational link for group arrivals, communicating room blocks to Sales and Revenue teams.
Requirements8
- 11+ year in hospitality or customer service, ideally at a front desk or reservations desk.
- 2Basic math skills to calculate room rates, taxes, and occupancy without error.
- 3Skill with property management systems like Opera or FOSSE.
- 4Ability to stand and walk for full shifts, often up to 8 hours.
- 5Clear verbal and written communication, adapting style to guests and team members.
- 6Conflict resolution experience to calm upset guests and find solutions.
- 7Prepare complex reports on availability and revenue using Excel and other tools.
- 8Work effectively with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Sales to coordinate room readiness.
