RN PreOp PACU, Perioperative Nursing in ASC
Overview
The RN PreOp/PACU will own preoperative and postoperative patient care in a fast paced ambulatory surgery center serving diverse patients. You will plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care in alignment with physician orders and perioperative standards. You will participate in quality improvement activities and committees as designated by management. This role emphasizes teamwork, patient education, and adherence to safety policies.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and coordinate preop and PACU care plans for patients across age ranges
- 2Document care accurately and timely in medical records
- 3Maintain airway management and IV therapy competencies
- 4Collaborate with the team during perioperative crises and high stress times
- 5Participate in CQI activities and committees to improve patient outcomes
- 6Communicate effectively with patients families and other healthcare professionals
- 7Adhere to OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards and safety procedures
- 8Follow policies and procedures to meet center goals and standards
- 9Provide emotional and social support to patients and families as needed
- 10Assist in ongoing professional development and training
Requirements5
- 1Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and hold current RN license
- 2CPR ACLS and PALS certifications required
- 3Minimum of 1 year perioperative experience preferred
- 4Demonstrates clinical leadership and teaching capabilities
- 5Physically and emotionally capable of performing duties in a perioperative setting
