Overview
SCA Health seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to lead PreOp PACU operations supporting a network of ambulatory surgery centers. What You'll Do14
- 1Promote the mission vision and values of SCA
- 2Assess patient cardiovascular respiratory and airway needs
- 3Interpret monitor data and pathophysiology of disease processes
- 4Apply scoring systems such as Aldrete Score for discharge criteria
- 5Develop individualized perianesthesia plans covering general monitored anesthesia and regional techniques
- 6Manage patient recovery from anesthesia through positioning thermal protection and comfort measures
- 7Administer medications safely using the 8-rights framework
- 8Maintain tissue perfusion fluid balance and electrolyte homeostasis
- 9Ensure normothermia and prevent infection during recovery
- 10Educate patients and support persons on psychosocial responses nutrition medication and wound care
- 11Document care accurately and provide handoff reports to multidisciplinary teams
- 12Delegate tasks according to state regulations and collaborate with healthcare professionals
- 13Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance reviews
- 14Advocate for patients while upholding privacy and cultural competence
Requirements6
- 1Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- 2One year PreOperative or PACU experience
- 3Current state licensure in good standing
- 4Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire
- 5Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification within 90 days of hire
- 6Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification if pediatric PACU duties are required
