Overview
You own the customer experience and store operations at a Michaels store in Orlando, Florida, serving thousands of shoppers each season. You ensure every guest finds what they need and leaves with a smile, while keeping the store stocked, recovered, and ready for the next wave. You work with a close-knit team reporting to the store manager, and you cross-train in Custom Framing to support special orders. This seasonal role offers hands-on retail experience and a direct path to year-round opportunities.
What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver friendly customer service by greeting shoppers, locating products, and suggesting solutions
- 2Complete a fast and friendly checkout process, including cash handling and Rewards enrollments
- 3Unload trucks and stock shelves, maintaining planograms (POGs) to keep displays accurate
- 4Execute omni-channel orders through Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
- 5Recover merchandise throughout the store, processing returns and go-backs to keep shelves full
- 6Run Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD sets as assigned, ensuring product availability
- 7Support shrink and safety programs by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- 8Engage customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey to gather real-time feedback
- 9Cross-train in Custom Framing, assisting with selling and production to meet frame order deadlines
Requirements8
- 16+ months of retail or customer service experience preferred
- 2Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the store
- 3Capability to lift heavy boxes and reach high shelves using ladders or equipment
- 4Willingness to work nights, weekends, and early mornings, including peak holiday shifts
- 5Must be 16 years or older per company policy
- 6Availability to work in a climate-controlled store, with some exposure to non-climate stock rooms and outdoor cart retrieval
- 7Comfort with using handheld devices and POS systems for checkout and inventory
- 8A positive attitude and commitment to respectful teamwork, even during busy periods
