Retail Sales Manager, Part-Time - Indianapolis, IN
Overview
You own the selling floor at a Michaels store in Brownsburg, IN, driving sales and customer satisfaction across front-end and service operations. You lead a team of 10-15 associates, coaching them on ART of Selling and Customer Experience standards to hit KPIs for conversion and retention. You manage Manager-on-Duty shifts, oversee BOPIS and Same Day Delivery fulfillment, and champion the Loyalty Rewards Program to grow repeat visits. This role blends operational rigor with hands-on coaching in a creative retail environment, with direct impact on store results and team development.
What You'll Do10
- 1Drive sales and conversion by modeling and coaching ART of Selling behaviors during every customer interaction.
- 2Oversee front-end operations, ensuring accurate POS transactions and smooth Self-Checkout use for customers.
- 3Lead the balloons and birthday party programs, executing events that boost foot traffic and basket size.
- 4Enroll customers in the Loyalty Rewards Program to increase retention and repeat purchases through consistent sign-ups.
- 5Champion MCC/Extend services, educating the team and customers on protection plans to lift attachment rates.
- 6Manage the Knit & Sew Shop and Cut Bar experience, maintaining expertise and driving sales in that department.
- 7Ensure timely BOPIS and Same Day Delivery order fulfillment, keeping on-hand accuracy and customer communication clear.
- 8Support Custom Framing consultations and coordinate with the frame shop to convert framing opportunities.
- 9Train and coach new hires through structured onboarding, building skills across all assigned departments.
- 10Enforce asset protection practices to reduce shrink, including compliance with safety and operational standards.
Requirements9
- 13+ years of retail leadership experience, with a proven record of meeting sales and service goals.
- 2Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the store without restriction.
- 3Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise and fixtures up to 25-50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
- 4Comfort climbing ladders or step stools to stock and retrieve products at height.
- 5Skill in performing repetitive motions like scanning items, stocking shelves, and operating POS equipment.
- 6Availability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings, adapting to peak retail hours.
- 7Strong interpersonal skills to engage customers and lead a team in a high-traffic environment.
- 8Familiarity with BOPIS and same-day delivery processes is preferred.
- 9High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on retail operations and customer service.
