Retail Sales Associate, Furniture & Mattresses
Overview
You will own the furniture sales floor at Macy's in Roseville Galleria, driving revenue for Furniture, Mattresses, and Rugs in a store with 160+ years of retail heritage. You'll partner with a team of Big Ticket Colleagues and report to the Sales Manager. This role stands out for its focus on building lasting customer relationships through in-home delivery coordination and post-sale follow-up, plus access to performance-based incentives and merchandise discounts.
What You'll Do8
- 1Engage every customer in Furniture to uncover their style and budget, then recommend mattresses, sofas, and rugs that fit their space and needs.
- 2Close sales by using POS technology to process orders, including protection plans and delivery scheduling, and follow up post-delivery to ensure satisfaction.
- 3Convert returns into exchanges by diagnosing the issue and offering alternatives, reducing return rates while preserving the relationship.
- 4Train on new vendor products through Macy's Learning Portal and apply that knowledge to answer customer questions.
- 5Promote the Star Rewards loyalty program at every interaction, explaining benefits and signing up new members.
- 6Maintain showroom standards by restocking, organizing rug displays, and tagging clearance items to keep the floor shoppable.
- 7Coordinate with Delivery Team to resolve delivery issues expediently, using CRM tools to track customer cases.
- 8Uphold asset protection procedures by scanning RFID tags, verifying inventory counts, and securing high-value items.
Requirements7
- 11-2 years of retail sales experience, preferably in furniture or big-ticket categories.
- 2Proven track record of meeting sales goals and protection plan attach rates.
- 3Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 4Strong communication skills to engage diverse customers and colleagues.
- 5Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for 2+ hours, and climb ladders to access high shelving.
- 6Comfort with POS systems, mobile devices, and customer databases.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent.
