The Center for Justice Innovation seeks a Resource Coordinator to lead court navigation for Brooklyn Justice Initiatives. What You'll Do17

  • 1Stakeholder & Participant Engagement: Communicate with judges prosecutors defense attorneys and other court staff about eligibility for diversion programming
  • 2Serve as liaison in arraignment all-purpose treatment and trial court parts to determine program eligibility
  • 3Work closely with defense attorneys and Assistant District attorneys to identify individuals who can avoid court or jail time
  • 4Execute crisis intervention protocols to ensure participant safety and connect them to services
  • 5Establish and maintain relationships with local social service providers present in the courthouse
  • 6Collaborate with criminal justice city government and community partners
  • 7Prepare written and verbal case updates for multiple court parts and staff including compliance and rearrest reporting
  • 8Maintain accurate participant information in electronic databases and hard files
  • 9Conduct routine audits with Compliance and Clinical staff to audit referral and court related information
  • 10Assist with data collection and management for diversion initiatives
  • 11Work with court operations team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • 12Support implementation and maintenance of protocols and procedures
  • 13Help develop and pilot new diversion initiatives
  • 14Collaborate with Supervised Release program staff in cross-program areas
  • 15Attend BJI meetings and events after hours
  • 16Attend all required staff meetings and trainings
  • 17Support other relevant tasks as needed

Requirements10

  • 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
  • 23-4 years experience in criminal justice field as an equivalency
  • 3Bachelor’s degree and minimum one year in related area
  • 4Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Google Suites and Outlook
  • 5Ability to use Zoom Microsoft Teams and Slack
  • 6Professional demeanor and effective communication with judges and court personnel
  • 7Highly organized detail-oriented writer capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • 8Cultural competence when working with diverse populations
  • 9Knowledge of courthouse operations and legal terminology
  • 10Bilingual English Spanish preferred
