Residential Specialist, Psychiatric Rehabilitation (Weekend)
Overview
As a Residential Specialist, you will implement individual service plans by delivering direct psychiatric rehabilitation and skills training to adults recovering from mental illness. You will work in residential units across Carroll County, supporting independence through daily living skills, medication monitoring, and community integration. You will collaborate with a team of coordinators and specialists, documenting services in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to ensure continuity. This part-time role (every other weekend, 9a-9p) offers the chance to make a tangible impact in a supportive, recovery-oriented environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Provide in-person residential coverage, facilitating rehabilitation services and skills training in the units.
- 2Perform medication monitoring to support residents' health and recovery.
- 3Assist consumers in implementing their Individual Service Plans to achieve personal goals.
- 4Facilitate group and individual activities that build coping and social skills.
- 5Transport residents using company vehicles to access community resources.
- 6Document all services in the EHR to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.
- 7Maintain the shift log to promote clear communication between teams.
- 8Teach independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, and household management.
- 9Respond to crises with de-escalation and support, coordinating with supervisors.
- 10Communicate with supervisors and colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma required; experience in human service delivery preferred.
- 2Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- 3Clean driving record and eligibility to drive company vehicles.
- 4Commitment to psychiatric rehabilitation and respecting individual choice in recovery.
- 5Strong verbal communication skills and empathy for consumer abilities and limitations.
- 61+ years experience in mental health or social services (preferred).
- 7Proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems (preferred).
- 8Ability to work weekends and maintain a flexible schedule.
Salary Insight
