Overview

As a part-time Research Associate, you will score preschool classroom videos using the SEEDS intervention and the ACSES scale for the Home-School Connections Team at NYU. You will maintain coding reliability and organize data within a 25-27 hour/week schedule. This role supports a strength-based, bidirectional model for culturally and linguistically diverse children. You will work fully remote under Dr. Adina Schick, contributing to equity-focused research. This position offers direct involvement in a culturally responsive oral storytelling program across NYC preschools.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Score preschool classroom video recordings using the ACSES scale, ensuring high reliability.
  • 2Participate in reliability checks and calibration meetings to maintain coding standards.
  • 3Record and organize coding data following study protocols.
  • 4Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of video data and research materials.
  • 5Complete assigned coding tasks independently while meeting project deadlines.
  • 6Assist with other research-related tasks as needed.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Developmental Psychology, Education, Applied Psychology, or related field.
  • 2Previous experience with the SEEDS intervention.
  • 3Certification in the ACSES scale.
  • 4Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • 5Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • 6Demonstrated attention to detail and accurate adherence to coding protocols.
  • 7Experience coding or observing early childhood classroom interactions preferred.
  • 8Familiarity with culturally responsive and equity-focused practices in early childhood education preferred.
