Rehabilitation Technician, Sports Medicine Clinic
Overview
You will support patient care and clinic operations at Peak Performance Spine & Sports Medicine in Houston, Texas, a high-volume outpatient clinic. You will assist with patient rehabilitation exercises, prepare treatment areas, and handle front office tasks such as scheduling and check-ins. This part-time role offers hands-on clinical experience and direct patient interaction in a fast-paced medical environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assist patients with prescribed rehabilitation exercises and modalities under the supervision of clinical staff.
- 2Prepare and clean treatment rooms and equipment between patient visits to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
- 3Greet patients at the front desk, check them in, and verify insurance and demographic information.
- 4Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic calendar to optimize provider availability.
- 5Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct messages to appropriate clinical or administrative staff.
- 6Collect co-pays and process payments accurately, reconciling the daily cash log.
- 7Assist with patient intake forms, ensuring completeness and accuracy before clinical evaluation.
- 8Document patient attendance and treatment notes in the electronic health record system.
- 9Communicate patient concerns or changes in status to the supervising therapist or clinician.
- 10Collaborate with the front office team to coordinate patient flow and reduce wait times.
Requirements10
- 11+ years of experience in a rehabilitation or physical therapy setting, either as a technician, aide, or in a similar patient-facing role.
- 2Ability to assist patients with mobility and transfer tasks, including lifting or repositioning up to 50 pounds.
- 3Proficiency with basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office and electronic scheduling software.
- 4Current CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
- 5Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and staff.
- 6High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in Kinesiology or a related field is a plus.
- 7Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- 8Availability to work weekdays, including some early mornings or evenings, up to 20 hours per week.
- 9Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to hire.
- 10Previous front office experience in a healthcare setting is beneficial but not required.
