Registered Nurse Interventional Radiology at Denver Health
Overview
You will own patient care in Interventional Radiology at Denver Health, a 555-bed academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, applying the ANA standards and Watson's Theory of Human Caring. This role requires a RN license and BLS certification. You will shape patient outcomes in a mission-driven safety-net hospital, with opportunities for professional growth and loan forgiveness.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assess patient needs to identify potential health or safety problems in the IR suite
- 2Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records, including EPIC documentation
- 3Monitor and record patient symptoms, vital signs, and changes in condition
- 4Modify patient treatment plans based on patient responses
- 5Prepare patients for and assist with interventional radiology examinations and treatments
- 6Consult and coordinate with the healthcare team to evaluate patient care
- 7Administer nursing care and medications, documenting and reassessing as needed
- 8Direct and supervise less skilled nursing personnel
- 9Instruct patients and families on health education, disease prevention, and aftercare
- 10Promote a positive patient experience in every interaction
Requirements10
- 1Associate's Degree in Nursing
- 21 year experience in direct patient care setting preferred
- 3BLS-CPR certification from AHA or American Red Cross
- 4Active RN license from DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies)
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- 6Experience with EPIC documentation preferred
- 7Ability to use medical equipment and instruments
- 8Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
- 9Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
- 10Knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span
