What You'll Do8
- 1Safely operate late-model manual or automatic tractors on regional runs, hauling van and reefer freight across designated lanes
- 2Deliver freight to customer docks, using drop and hook procedures to streamline turnaround times
- 3Plan efficient routes with GPS and adjust for weather, traffic, and delivery windows to meet schedules
- 4Inspect tractor and trailer daily, documenting any issues per DOT pre-trip and post-trip standards
- 5Manage cargo integrity with proper load securement, especially for reefer temperature control
- 6Log hours and fuel stops in ELD, ensuring FMCSA Hours of Service compliance
- 7Coordinate with dispatch on pickups, drop-offs, and route changes, reporting delays or issues promptly
- 8Adapt to changing freight types, moving from power-only to van operations as training completes
Requirements8
- 1Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and no recent violations
- 22+ years of regional or OTR driving experience, including reefer and van freight
- 3Comfort operating both manual and automatic transmissions; experience with both preferred
- 4Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT inspection criteria, and ELD logging
- 5Reliable attendance and ability to stay out on regional routes for up to 5 days at a time
- 6Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen, including SAP approval if returning to duty
- 7Experience with drop and hook procedures and reefer temperature monitoring
- 8Background check and MVR review per company insurance requirements
