Overview

The Recreation Shift Lead owns onsite operations for evening and weekend hours at the Community Center, ensuring a safe, engaging, and high‑quality experience for members and guests at scale. You will lead staff, coordinate events and programming, manage emergencies, and uphold district policies as a visible on‑site leader. What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and maintain evening and weekend operations for member services, activities, programs, events, and facility maintenance
  • 2Coordinate staff schedules, room assignments, and event setups to deliver a seamless experience
  • 3Lead recruitment, training, and ongoing performance of team members to ensure service excellence
  • 4Oversee setup, use, and cleanup of events and rentals while promoting Community Center offerings
  • 5Ensure safety and security by enforcing policies, locking doors, and documenting incidents
  • 6Deliver exceptional customer service by answering questions and resolving member concerns
  • 7Respond to emergencies and manage issues involving staff, members, or guests with professionalism
  • 8Engage with members to enhance experience, monitor satisfaction, and strengthen brand loyalty
  • 9Supervise evening and weekend shifts and ensure proper program coverage
  • 10Enforce district policies and community center rules during all operations

Requirements9

  • 1Maintain current American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • 2Ability to work flexible schedules including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • 340 hours per week with specific shifts: Tue‑Thu 1:00 PM–9:30 PM, Fri 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, Sat 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
  • 4Prior experience leading front desk, guest services, or community center operations is preferred
  • 5Strong customer service orientation with ability to resolve conflicts and respond to inquiries
  • 6Comfort coordinating events, programs, and facility maintenance requirements
  • 7Ability to monitor and enforce safety and security procedures
  • 8Basic to intermediate problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
  • 9Ability to work in a community setting with diverse members and guests
