Overview

We seek an R&D Workshop Specialist to lead workspace organization and efficiency within our hardware research facility. The role focuses on maintaining engineering workspaces to minimize downtime and support rapid innovation. This position ensures resources are accessible exactly when needed.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Maintain organized clutter-free R&D spaces by upholding layouts and organizational standards established with engineering leads.
  • 2Implement and maintain 5S principles across benches storage and shared zones.
  • 3Develop visual management systems including shadow boards labeling standards and standardized storage solutions.
  • 4Ensure tools test equipment and prototype storage remain in designated locations.
  • 5Maintain inventory of shared consumables hardware and supplies and reorder before shortages occur.
  • 6Place and track orders through procurement and vendor systems from order through receiving and put-away.
  • 7Follow and uphold workspace organization standards define for each team and zone.
  • 8Maintain documentation checklists and labeling conventions to keep standards consistent.
  • 9Support integration of new equipment and supplies into existing storage and workflows.
  • 10Uphold EHS and lab safety standards through daily upkeep proper material storage clear egress aisles and correct handling labeling.
  • 11Partner with engineers technicians and facilities to suggest practical improvements to organization stocking and flow.

Requirements10

  • 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
  • 23-5 seasons experience in lab or shop environments
  • 35+ years working in a similar role
  • 4Certified in relevant technical domains
  • 5Proven ability to manage inventory and procurement processes
  • 6Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
  • 7Knowledge of EHS and lab safety protocols
  • 8Physical stamina to stand and move throughout the facility
  • 9Ability to lift and transport items up to 50 lbs
  • 10Willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies
