Advanced Manufacturing Technician Formative 3D
Overview
You will own large-format robotic and FDM 3D printing operations at Formative 3D in Falls Church VA. This is a hands-on role driving scalable product development through additive manufacturing. The position offers direct impact on sustainable modular furniture systems within a fast-paced startup environment.
What You'll Do11
- 1Operate and maintain large-format robotic and FDM 3D printers for component-based production
- 2Slice 3D models using PrusaSlicer and related software to generate print-ready G-code
- 3Manage pellet and filament inventory and load materials to meet production demand
- 4Schedule queue and monitor print jobs across a fleet of printers for 24/7 output
- 5Track material usage and conduct quality inspections on all manufactured parts
- 6Harvest prints and perform post-processing including support removal and part cleaning
- 7Troubleshoot printer issues and perform routine maintenance and calibration
- 8Fabricate jigs fixtures and other shop equipment as needed
- 9Maintain a clean organized safe production environment
- 10Document production data and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- 11Collaborate with engineering design teams to optimize print quality and efficiency
Requirements8
- 11+ years additive manufacturing FDM printing or related production environments
- 2Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on problem solving skills
- 3Comfort operating hand tools power tools fabrication equipment
- 4Familiarity with PrusaSlicer and 3D modeling software like Fusion 360
