RCDD Engineer, Telecommunications Infrastructure
Overview
Own the RCDD engineering for JSP ETM - NG at the Pentagon, managing Inside Plant cabling across 1,800+ telecom rooms. You will drive EIA/TIA 568 compliance and BICSI standards, oversee breakfix operations 24/7/365, and deliver Engineering Installation Plans for critical government mission spaces. Your work ensures the NCR infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and mission-ready.
What You'll Do8
- 1Maintain Inside Plant cable infrastructure, including conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, and fiber across Pentagon, Mark Center, and NCR buildings.
- 2Develop Engineering Installation Plans for cable racks, wiring, and testing per JSP and commercial standards.
- 3Conduct on-site surveys and produce weekly reports on telecom room conditions, prioritizing corrections per EIA/TIA 568A/B standards.
- 4Execute 24/7/365 breakfix on all inside plant cabling to minimize downtime and maintain mission continuity.
- 5Design structured cabling layouts for voice, data, and low-voltage systems, aligning with NEC, IEEE, and BICSI guidelines.
- 6Provide O&M support for 1,800+ telecom rooms, ensuring clean, labeled, and secure cable management.
- 7Collaborate with JSP stakeholders to implement best practices and uphold EIA/TIA standards.
- 8Generate cutchsheets and floorplans using Excel and Visio, enabling accurate infrastructure documentation.
Requirements8
- 19+ years designing telecommunications and structured cabling systems, including voice and data.
- 2Active Top Secret security clearance.
- 3RCDD certification required.
- 4In-depth knowledge of BICSI rules, NEC, IEEE, and EIA/TIA standards.
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Visio for cutchsheets and floorplans.
- 6Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- 7Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 8Experience in high-visibility environments with solid customer support skills.
