Quality Engineer, Diesel Engine Remanufacturing
Overview
Owns quality processes on the shop floor at Reviva, supporting first shift in Fridley MN. Lead root-cause investigations, drive corrective actions, and reduce warranty claims through teardown analysis. Collaborate with operations to embed defect-free practices and audit readiness. This role blends hands-on problem solving with frontline coaching to elevate manufacturing quality.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build and perform regular process audits to verify traveler adherence, standard work, and quality standards on the production floor
- 2Coach operators in real time to correct deviations from standard work and improve workmanship
- 3Analyze in-process and final inspection data to detect trends and prevent defects
- 4Maintain and update 8D and related quality documentation to reflect current process state
- 5Lead root cause investigations for internal quality escapes and warranty returns and drive lasting corrective actions
- 6Develop and verify CAPA actions with defined metrics and follow-up audits
- 7Coordinate containment of non-conforming materials with Supplier Quality and production teams
- 8Standardize work instructions and visual aids to reduce variation and operator error
- 9Track and report key quality KPIs and present progress to management
- 10Own warranty reduction by analyzing trends and leading systemic process improvements
- 11Conduct teardown analysis of warranty engines and document findings for root cause investigations
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2Experience with structured root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa diagrams
- 3Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and standard work instructions and in analyzing statistical quality KPIs
- 4Strong communication and coaching skills to present data to management and guide frontline operators
- 5Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, chemicals, and noise
- 6Onsite work in Fridley MN with local candidates only
- 7Commitment to safety and PPE requirements on the production floor
- 8Willingness to travel domestically for supplier-related containment activities if needed
- 9Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and experience in a manufacturing quality role
