Quality Engineer, Manufacturing & Statistical Analysis
Overview
You will own quality assurance for manufacturing processes, ensuring every product meets customer specs. You'll analyze statistical data, run quality cost analyses, and manage customer complaints from initial report to root cause resolution. You'll act as the bridge between customers and Manufacturing teams, driving improvements based on real issues. This role directly impacts production efficiency and customer satisfaction. You'll also assist with audits and develop new testing methods to raise the bar. This is a direct hire opportunity in Tinley Park, IL, paying $75,000-$85,000.
What You'll Do7
- 1Ensure all manufacturing processes meet customer specifications and quality standards, auditing test methods and equipment
- 2Analyze statistical data from production metrics and perform quality cost analysis to identify trends
- 3Manage customer complaints, acting as liaison between customer and Manufacturing/Quality teams to resolve issues within 90 days
- 4Assist with quality audits to improve production methods, recommending corrective actions based on findings
- 5Develop and implement improvements to testing methods and equipment, piloting changes on a small scale
- 6Conduct product and process failure analysis, documenting root causes and preventive actions
- 7Travel to customer sites and internal facilities as needed, up to 10%
Requirements6
- 15+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years in quality engineering
- 2Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- 3Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- 4Product and process failure analysis experience, using tools like Fishbone or 5 Whys
- 5Fastener manufacturing knowledge preferred
- 6Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to lead cross-functional teams
