This contract-to-hire role offers a pay range of $85,000-$105,000 and requires travel to OEM sites about 25% of the time.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Serve as the primary quality contact for North American OEM customers, managing day-to-day communications and expectations.
  • 2Respond to urgent OEM escalations, coordinating rapid issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
  • 3Lead preparation, maintenance, and submission of APQP and PPAP documentation for new and existing products.
  • 4Drive quality performance across supply chain, machining, molding, assembly, and final validation processes.
  • 5Own and maintain core quality documentation including FMEAs, control plans, and quality KPIs.
  • 6Lead root cause analysis using structured methods such as 8D, fishbone diagrams, and DOE to implement corrective actions.
  • 7Support new product introduction (NPI) launches and product transfers, ensuring quality requirements are defined and verified.
  • 8Implement and monitor SPC and other quality systems to maintain stable and capable processes.
  • 9Support ISO 9001 and customer audits by preparing documentation and addressing findings.
  • 10Coordinate quality activities with global plants in China, Vietnam, and Mexico, and represent the NA quality function in meetings.

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, with a focus on electronics or automotive electronics preferred.
  • 23+ years of automotive quality experience, ideally with OEM or Tier 1 suppliers like GM, Tesla, or Ford.
  • 3Hands-on experience with APQP and PPAP processes, including documentation, submission, and approval.
  • 4Strong experience developing and maintaining FMEAs and control plans.
  • 5Proven ability to perform root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, fishbone diagrams, and DOE.
  • 6Proficiency with SPC tools and techniques for process monitoring and improvement.
  • 7Customer-facing quality experience with direct OEM interaction.
  • 8Experience supporting NPI launches and product transfers.
  • 9Exposure to ISO 9001 and quality management systems; auditing experience preferred.
  • 10Willingness to travel approximately 25%, typically 4-6 trips per year to OEM customer sites.
