Quality Control Inspector, Electrical Manufacturing
Overview
You will own quality assurance for power distribution assemblies in Garland, TX, performing in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and UL standards. You will join a team that values precision and safety, working directly with Quality and Engineering to identify and escalate defects. This role offers direct hire status with shift differentials for evening work and the chance to cross-train in MRB and RMA processes. What You'll Do8
- 1Execute in-process and final inspections to verify assemblies against electrical schematics, BOMs, and mechanical requirements, including wire routing, labeling, terminations, fastening, and torque markings.
- 2Conduct torque audits using calibrated tools, verifying hardware type, grade, and washer usage per mechanical drawings.
- 3Perform final visual inspections and execute Hi-Pot dielectric testing prior to energization.
- 4Document inspection records accurately, log nonconformances, and tag, segregate, and support rework verification of defective material.
- 5Identify, contain, and escalate abnormal conditions by stopping shipment, placing product on hold, and coordinating re-inspection with Quality or Engineering.
- 6Cross-train in receiving inspections and MRB/RMA processes to support operational needs.
- 7Use hand tools including torque wrench, multi-meter, and inspection gauges for precise measurements.
- 8Maintain compliance with UL and NEC standards during all inspection activities.
Requirements7
- 13+ years in manufacturing quality, with experience in electronics, defense, or automotive sectors.
- 2Proficient in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings (required).
- 3High school diploma, GED, or technical certification.
- 4Basic understanding of UL and NEC standards.
- 5Basic computer skills, including Excel for data entry and record keeping.
- 6Experience with hand tools: torque wrench, multi-meter, and inspection gauges.
- 7Own steel toe boots; able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in loud environments with extreme temperatures.
