Mechanical Quality Control Inspector, Electrical Systems
Overview
Own the QA/QC inspection of electrical systems at a leading industrial manufacturing facility in Clearfield, UT. You will inspect wiring, control panels, and switchgear against engineering specs, using multimeters and megohmmeters. Report to the quality manager and collaborate with engineering and production teams on a Monday–Thursday schedule with overtime on Friday and Saturday. What You'll Do9
- 1Inspect electrical systems including wiring, conduit, terminations, control panels, and switchgear for compliance with NEC and NFPA 70E.
- 2Perform electrical testing such as continuity, insulation resistance, loop checks, and grounding verification using multimeters and megohmmeters.
- 3Verify torque specifications with calibrated tools on VFDs, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
- 4Interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate assembly.
- 5Complete inspection reports, punch lists, and quality documentation for every batch.
- 6Assist with as-built documentation and BOM verification to maintain part accuracy.
- 7Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts with engineering and production teams.
- 8Enforce safety standards including PPE, lockout/tagout, and arc flash protocols.
- 9Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve quality issues within 24 hours.
Requirements9
- 15+ years in electrical fabrication, installation, or inspection.
- 2Strong knowledge of NEC, UL, NFPA, and IEEE standards.
- 3Experience with switchgear, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
- 4Proficiency with multimeters, megohmmeters, and electrical testing equipment.
- 5Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
- 6High school diploma or GED required.
- 7Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- 8Pass a background check and drug screen.
- 9Spanish bilingual is a plus.
