Python Backend Developer, Backend APIs & Data Integration
Overview
Strong backend engineer to own scalable server-side services at scale for a major financial services institution. You'll work on Python based backends, RESTful APIs, and data-driven automation in a large enterprise technology environment. The team collaborates across technical and business stakeholders and values clean engineering practices and independent problem solving. This role blends development, testing, and deployment in an Agile delivery setting.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and maintain scalable server-side applications using Python and design robust RESTful APIs
- 2Translate business and technical requirements into reliable software and data-driven solutions
- 3Develop scripts and automation to improve functionality and operational efficiency
- 4Integrate relational and enterprise databases with backend services to support critical functions
- 5Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code following engineering standards and perform unit testing
- 6Contribute to peer code reviews and continuous integration and deployment practices
- 7Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders across an Agile team
- 8Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and refining applications to boost reliability
- 9Assist in deployment processes and ensure smooth operation in production environments
Requirements10
- 15–7 years of relevant software development experience with strong hands-on Python
- 2Strong understanding of Python, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
- 3Experience developing server-side applications, services, scripts, or backend components
- 4Hands-on experience designing, consuming, or integrating RESTful APIs
- 5Experience connecting applications to databases and working with data-driven systems
- 6Proficiency with source/version control systems such as Git
- 7Solid understanding of software testing, debugging, and maintainable coding practices
- 8Ability to analyze technical problems independently while collaborating within Agile teams
- 9Strong communication skills and the ability to translate requirements into practical technical solutions
- 10Exposure to cloud platforms, DevOps tooling, CI/CD, or front-end technologies is beneficial
