Overview

Own purchase order processes and ensure accurate inventory replenishment for a midsize distribution firm. Provide clear visibility of inbound shipments and inventory status while supporting a fast-paced environment. This is a contract-to-hire role focused on import logistics and vendor communication.

What You'll Do15

  • 1Review inventory levels and run reports to determine appropriate purchase order release quantities
  • 2Align purchase order releases with demand trends and production needs to maintain optimal stock levels
  • 3Maintain accurate purchase order data from creation through receipt ensuring all information is current
  • 4Monitor open purchase orders and escalate delays to maintain supply continuity
  • 5Coordinate with vendors on product availability and lead times to support replenishment
  • 6Track vendor delivery commitments and follow up to keep orders on schedule
  • 7Support vendor onboarding by confirming product details and setting up accurate vendor information
  • 8Assist in managing direct import processes by handling documentation and freight forwarder coordination
  • 9Track inbound shipment status including freight and container schedules to provide visibility
  • 10Enter and maintain purchase orders in ERP systems and monitor open orders for release
  • 11Expedite urgent orders to prevent stockouts and collaborate with managers on pricing and timing
  • 12Coordinate with receiving to verify quantities and build shipping receivers
  • 13Maintain accurate shipment information in Acumatica and resolve discrepancies between documents
  • 14Use ERP and reporting tools for demand planning and replenishment analysis
  • 15Communicate updates on shipments and inventory to warehouse logistics and customer service teams

Requirements5

  • 15+ years supporting import logistics and shipment tracking
  • 2Experience with inventory control and order management in distribution environments
  • 3Hands-on experience with ERP systems like Accumatica NetSuite or NetStock
  • 4Proficiency in vendor management and communication regarding availability and lead times
  • 5Strong purchase order administration skills from creation to receipt
